If the shadow bothers us

When Peter Pan, the famous story of Barrie, he realizes that he's losing his shadow, he asked Wendy to sew. After all how could she live without?

Think what the image would be represented in a flat panel or on screen if he had not the shadow. The shadow gives the dimension of depth, the thickness of a person or object.

Also we would be without the shadow people ... in half. Without disturbing

Jung, we see for ourselves that it corresponds to that of us, although they belong in an irrefutable way, ... is not illuminated. Thus, our wealth of childhood fears, our prejudices, constraints that prevent us from acting freely, the rages, the more insane impulses of hatred and revenge ... I mean everything that we do not like us, we would not have and, often, very often, we refuse to have.

Unfortunately, however, being humans, the shadow can not shell out ... ... Indeed, we need it, not only because it gives us depth and thickness as people, but because it defines the peculiarities of our character and gives us reason and incentive to work for ... illuminate all aspects of the darkest and loose, as you can, the chains and limitations that often make it so heavy and miserable life.

Let's watch then this "shadow".

course must first recognize it. Who is considered perfect ("I'm never wrong!), Who thinks he's become a guru, a saint or a yogi does not accept it and live by yourself and ... always dissociated from reality.

This means that his shadow has disappeared? No way.

Shadow takes us to the death.

What it contains and is to be noted, without trial or rejection. It is ours.

He began to form at birth with "material" in which family and social and cultural environment in which we were born, we have absorbed and made ours: mindsets, behaviors and ways to manage emotions or deny , ways to react to external situations ... Everything that belonged to others, who looked after us (which, in turn, had been enslaved by the constraints of their own personal environment) has become an integral part of our shadow, since we are not able to exercise a critical, necessary to choose.

is a chain, a baggage limits and suffering that humanity passes from generation to generation.

But every step he can take part.

In what way? Developing an awareness of what we really are.

deny or project onto others our defects (small shadows), does not help in this process.

Look, look ... and welcome them as part of us is instead a way to discover the causes and reasons that keep them still present and active.

For example, if we feel perpetually victims and accuse others of not giving us the right, there is perhaps a little self within us (shadow), which behaves as a child falsely accused and wants recognition and acceptance (and perhaps revenge) in who has nothing to do nothing to do with our past. Let us ask ourselves whether we can do something for this child, we now we have the adult responsibilities. What does not continue to put in a position to always be abused!

When you point the finger at a "different" or against the "monster" rapist, maybe we're projecting our fears and our insecurities and, as in fairy tales, we try to put out the impulses that we perceive insane and evil.

Meet and know your shadow leads to the desire not to destroy it (which is impossible as we said above) but to integrate it in the light of our conscious life and well-oriented.

is necessary to acquire humility, ie contact with the reality of our humanity, but wound healing can be imperfect but perfectible.

Namely honesty in relationships with others that I can not judge the "monster" because I like me, deep in my shadow still not integrated.

is a big step toward building a new society based on acceptance and mutual understanding.

is a necessary step on the path of true peace
